For those who have silenced your sweet tooth, if you don't eat any junk food or sweets for several months, or even a year, and then you eat something like a Hersheys Kiss, are you hooked all over again?

I am asking this because I am obsessed with sugar and junk food. Although I am tall and slim and have no medical conditions, I know my immune system isn't thanking me for feeding it tons of sugar every day...

Day 3 of no sugary candies...

The worst thing I have done so far is dip my finger into lemon cake batter, didn't even taste very good....

I wouldnt think so... just depends on your addiction to sweets.. If you used to sit down and eat a whole chocolate cake or something to that extreme your best bet would be to stay away all together... If its been a long time since youve had anything sugary....and you do eat candy for instance, you may find it doesnt taste as good as you remember.... I used to have a 12 pack a day Regular Coke habit..(Not good!!!) Switched to diet coke (Tasted awful at first) but then got used to it... Now i no longer drink pop... and if im dying of thirst and have a sip its awful... It just takes baby steps hun... =o)

It's all just the body reacting to sugar and fat. It likes those two things very much, because our bodies are designed for unreliable food sources.

They will always taste good, because your body always wants them! There is nothing you can do other than use self-control to limit yourself. If you are having huge cravings, don't fight them. You'll just end up eventually binging. Instead have a LITTLE of what you want, just enough to get rid of the cravings, right when you get the craving. Then control yourself from having any more. Eventually the cravings will become smaller, and farther apart.

It is really pretty easy to get off sugar. But - be aware that there is a chemical compound in chocolate that reacts with the same brain receptors in women that cause and supress depression. This makes it extremely easy for women to be addicted to chocolate. If you can stay off it for six months or so, it actually tastes pretty nasty (I am a guy so for a woman that may be different). Remember that women can actually get addicted to it.

I don't think so. Keep it in moderation. Limit yourself. Limit your temptations. If you want just ONE kiss, then only buy 3... Then you won't be too tempted to eat more, because you know you've only got 3 for the week, or 10 for the month or something... Good luck!

No. In fact, the sugar probably won't taste as good as you remember.

I used to be a huge coffee fiend, drank it black with nothing in it, then I quit for a year, now it tastes awful to me.
