A lot depends on how overweight the kid is and how the rest of their life is. If a kid does a bunch of school activities, is really friendly and outgoing, and dresses well, it's my experience that nobody pays too much attention to how big the kid is. If the kid is self-conscious and shy to begin with, they're headed for trouble. It also seems to make a big difference whether the kid is a boy or a girl. Guys get teased more for being skinny and it never seems to matter if they're overweight, even if it's by a large amount. Girls have more of a stigma surrounding being overweight.

Because most kids tease because of what they see on the outside of a person - not the inside. I was bullied and teased in grammar school and it wasn't fun. It wasn't because of obesity (I was never obese, even now). The reason I was teased and made fun of was because of my looks: appearance and clothes I wore and because I wore glasses back then. Kids are cruel, but you have to remember that it's the responsibility of the parents to teach their kids to treat others fairly and equally, the way THEY want to be treated. I've gone to school with obese kids myself, but I never treated them any different than anyone else. It's a painful and emotional thing to go through, being teased and even rejected by fellow classmates because of what you look like on the outside. I went through the bullying and teasing from kindergarten to grade 5 - a long time to have to go through that hell and it's even affected me psychologically today. How? Well, when someone that tries to order me around that has no right to (excluding my parents and boss, of course), I tell them off and go on the defensive. If someone attacks my family, friends and beliefs, I go on the immediate defensive - all because of what I went through back in grammar school. Defending your family, friends and personal beliefs isn't a bad thing, of course - you're sticking up for who you love and care about and for what you believe in. I didn't have the nerve enough to stand up for myself back then, but I learned from the past and now, I take a stand for what I believe in and am very protective of my family and friends. I guess you can say I'm trying to make up for or correct what I didn't do back then, which is stick up for and defend myself.
It has affected me a great deal, though I realize I should put that all behind me and move on (because it was a long time ago, though some things that affect you in that way are hard to just forget, you know?) It's rather hard to explain, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
Happy New Year!

Well, it's true that a lot of child abuse is done by other kids, so I'd say yes.
I feel really sorry for overweight kids. They just don't have the skill sets or the ability to institute controls over their life that adults do. (For obvious reasons - they depend on adults for their food intake.) Unfortunately, poor eating habits are generally passed down to kids by uninformed or non-caring parents, so obese children are a problem in our society. Adult-onset diabetes is now called type 2 diabetes, because they were finding so many kids with it, so they couldn't call it "adult-onset" anymore! Really sad.
Obesity is a national health problem (60% of Americans are overweight--that's more than 1 out of 2 people), and the fact that kids are being affected in greater numbers is just tragic. Our government, of course, cares nothing about doing anything about it because they are in bed with the corporations that manufacture junk foods, soda, and other unhealthy fare.

Unfortunately, kids can be cruel. I was obese as a child and was picked on from the time I was in kidergarten til I was in jr. high. Seems like the teasing wore off in high school, or I didn't pay attention to it as much. There are support groups if you are being teased, or if there is someone you know having a problem. I'd suggest talking to a school counselor or a teen crisis line in your area.

Plus young little ones are not very energetic with pcs and video games. The obesity rates are unhappy. yet ppl are becoming to be extra conscious. McDonalds has to introduce extra healthy recommendations as a results of fact they are not as universal as in the previous.

Yes they do... I believe obese people, no matter what age, get teased. A few people have done experiements on that with wearing those fat suits and they were treated way differently when they looked obese.

I am 101 pounds, at 5"5, and I think I am fat, but no one teases me for it. But then again, there are a lot of people in my school who are much, much heavier than me and get teased a lot, and they cry.
