Well any real french wine is good no ?
A red wine has to be choosen depending on the meals you are going to eat with.

basically,
Bordeaux for Red meat,
Loire river for cheese and "volaille" meat (chicken,...etc)
Madiran and bourgogne for heavy meals (cassoulet,...etc).

A good tricks for christmas days: Sauterne (sweet white wine) + roquefort (The Roquefort,a strong french cheese)

Ripple, or a nice Boones Farm Strawberry Hill ought to impress the heck out of them.
A large box of Cheese Itz makes a nice appetizer to go with the wine.
