How old are they? Do they help you cook? Sometimes being involved with the cooking process helps. Or helping to choose the menus.
I lived with my brother and sister-in-law and their kids for a while. My nephew (age would have been about six or seven at the time) wouldn't even taste my pumpkin pie because he knew he didn't like pumpkin. Until the day he and I made a pumpkin pie together. He did most of the work on the pumpkin filling (under supervision, of course) while I did the crust. He saw exactly what went into making the pie, both the ingredients and the work. He was so proud of that pie when it came out of the oven. And at dinner that night, he got to have the first slice of pie for dessert. At sixteen, he still uses my recipe, and still loves pumpkin pie.
I taught him how to make homemade pizza, too. He especially liked punching down the dough and choosing and arranging the toppings. We had a lot of face- and animal-shaped pizzas that year!
It doesn't always work, of course. About five years ago, I made lasagna with my brother's kids, let them chop veggies and stir the sauce, layer the noodles, sprinkle cheese, etc. When it came time to eat, though, about six of the eight kids (some adopted, some foster, ages eleven down to five) chimed up, "but we don't like mushrooms." Why didn't the kids tell me that while they were chopping the mushrooms???

Magical Peanut Butter Cookies - Makes 18 cookies
1 cup peanut butter
1 1/3 cups Splenda
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Try with 3/4 cup Splenda
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a large baking sheet.
In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, 1 cup sugar replacement, the egg, and vanilla, and stir well with a spoon.
Roll the dough into balls the size of walnuts. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet. With a fork, dipped in sugar replacement to prevent sticking, press a crisscross design on each cookie.
Bake for 9-11 minutes, remove from the oven, and sprinkle the cookies with some of the remaining sugar replacement. Cool slightly before removing from pan.

Easiest recipe I have that works will all my grandkids is homemade cheeseburger macaroni. Brown hamburger (I use about a pound). Add the seasonings your family will eat. Cook a 1 pound bag of macaroni according to directions. To make the cheese sauce, I use a big spoon full of butter, melt in a sauce pan, add a little flour to make a paste, slowly add 1 cup of milk, stirring constantly, add an 8 oz package of shredded cheddar cheese and let it cook until it is thick. Pour over drained macaroni and and hamburger. Stir it all together.
