Just go wiht something you can relate to, like everyone else said. Say you looooove shoes. Write a monologue about you window shopping then BAM! You saw the cuuuuutest pair of sling backs in a shope display. Or apply that to anything other than shoes.

If, being in drama class and all, you want to make it dramatic, try doing your monologue on an (anecdotal) encounter you just had with a VERY good looking guy.
or perhaps over sort of difficult choice you have to make (kinda like in Hamlet).

Well, if you had a good Christmas, you could write about that. Or maybe make up a story about taking a present back to the shop, but you took it to the wrong shop. Describe the other people in the shop, like the shop manager who walked with a limp and sneezed every 30 seconds. Or the shoplifter with a hole in his pocket.

how about this. a girl((we'll call her tammy)) and her friend ((paula-they're both in high school)) go to a party together. paula has a huge crush on the star quarterback on the football team.((we'll call him will)) Will gets drunk but despite that he offers to give paula a ride home. and tammy lets her ride with him. they have a car wreck((paula and will)) and neither survives. You could write your monologue from Tammy's viewpoint. About how you should have stopped Paula from riding wtih him, and how you might have been able to prevent her death. This will make for a good story. You could start off recalling memories from you and paula's childhoods together and lead up to the party telling what happened and then start to spill your regrets and admit how you feel her death was your fault.
Hope I Helped!

Um, Who shot the principal? or Day in the life of female president...you could make it very funny. or 10 ways to buy shoes... a comedy about a girl's struggle to find completion within herself instead of trying to make it up by buying shoes... or Back in the 60's.... Sorry couldn't think of anything else.. Hope you find something :)
