How come whenever someone asks a question about sex on here there are always people that respond with "Go ask your parents"? Is this really a good idea seeing as how most parents lie about stuff like sex to their kids?

Oh btw, I know I'm going to get more hate mail for asking this, so I have thought ahead and got a link to the dictionary on what a lie means.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/lie

1.a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.

Don't hate me because I'm actually right.

I know what you mean. This forum is valuable because everyone can get a variety of (hopefully HELPFUL/TRUTHFUL) answers from a wide array of people. People who say "ask your parents" are just too lazy to think about a real answer or they're uneducated and lack developed ideas. It bothers me when parents lie to their kids too (to keep them "safe"). Parents are the primary educators in their children's lives and should be giving their kids factual information to prepare them for life. I'm going into teaching and I've seen far too many kids with the wrong information because their parents lie to them. I don't think a teacher should have to "correct" a parent, but it's tempting when too many kids are fed b.s.
