I am not a Saddam supporter, but wonder what worse will come from his execution.
The Baath Party, the political movement that ruled Iraq during the Hussein era, warned this week that there would be "grave consequences" if Hussein were executed.
Saying it would hold the United States responsible, a message appeared on albasrah.net Tuesday that read: "The Baath and the resistance are determined to retaliate in all ways and all places that hurt America and its interests if it commits this crime."
The "dancing in the street" might be cut short ...

You see, we humans don't have the ability and senses to decide what's just and what's not (including just punishments/rewards). Only God knows how just a punishment a person should receive for not being just to others.
Answer to your question, from my view, is that it's because he was executed during a religious holiday (even if the claim is "it was just before sunset! NOT yet Eid!"), and God doesn't allow us to execute ANYONE (Muslims OR non-Muslims) during religious months/days/celebrations (yes, including Christmas and such). Muslims may do it anyway, but who said that makes it right?
Bush fantacizes that this is a victory for the Iraqis; he's just too weak to initiate wars with the developed nations so he just does it with the weak nations because he knows they can't support themselves.
Anyway, some people find the execution wrong because many believe that Bush is also killing so many people (ok, fine, INDIRECTLY), so shouldn't he be hanged too? He just had some personal feelings against him... You see, if Muslims were to ever decide (even have one tiny little say in the decision) that Bush should be hanged and Bush does get hanged, some Americans/non-Muslims would most probably consider Bush a Saint!
Besides, how come the execution was SO quick? All of a sudden you hear, "Saddam has been executed by Iraqis." Yeah, right... Like America didn't have anything to do with the decision!
Just remember that only God is the Ultimate Judge; we humans can't make fair decisions for others no matter what.
I never did support any of the cruelties that Saddam brought to his people just as I don't support any cruelties that Bush has brought upon the Iraqis.
But who'm I to speak out, right? Oh, well.

I'm not a sadamn supporter, but when is it Bush's turn? What about all the people (innocent men, women and children) killed by him. Should he not have to pay in the same way?

I don't like the fact that he killed hundreds of innocent people. I feel real bad because I had to see the poor old guy die, and the way it happened. Anyway his killing didn't get anyone anywhere, it was pointless. Doing something equally as wrong does not make a right. And seriously Bush can think whatever he wants, he is NOT fighting a war of terror, he is fighting a war of stupidity

I do not support the man--he was a bad guy. But knowing that, the US put him there and supplied him with weapons. Funny how there is just "justice" for some murderers but not for all. How do you justify all the deaths the US has brought about for no reason, based on a LIE, and rationalize Saddam's execution? I don't get it. As Pogo once said "we have seen the enemy, and he is us." Except that many in our government will never have to take responsibility for what they themselves set in motion. How tragic.

You should think in terms of pragmatists rather than active supporters. I favour whichever course of action is the most expedient and promises to lead to stability and killing Saddam won't bring peace any nearer. He was made a scapegoat to justify an illegal and needless invasion.

Happy he hung, and his cohorts. Alot of this anti death penalty talk is rubbish. One of my dream jobs would be that of a hangman. Would'nt like to smell the burning flesh of the electric chair so much, but hangman, why not? "Excuse me, would u care for a hood? We have a nice selection to choose from..here's a nice little plaid number that would go very nice with your trousers......."

Why is it there are so many people in western politics who openly participate in these activity's even with children and are not given the same sentence as Saddam?
Hypocritical isn't it!

Yes he was a nutjob and he did horrible things, but that doesn't justify MURDERing him. If we murdered everyone who was an arrogant nutjob, we'd have the gallows, ovens, guillotines and so forth going DAY AND NIGHT and still not nick the edge off of the arrogance and stupidity of the world.

Well, two wrongs don't make a right. He was a bad man, but you kind of just helped him by killing him instead of letting him think about all the bad things he's done. Plus he died thinking he is going to get rewarded, which kind of makes the death even stupider.
