By rail..Birmingham New street..local train to Redditch

I assume that as this is placed in the railway section you want to know how to travel by train between these two towns and that the road answers are not relevant to you. So:-

Staines to Reading - South West Trains
Reading - Birmingham New Street - Virgin X Country
New Street - Redditch - Central Trains

Will take you about 4 hours

i would think M25, M40, M42 would get you there.
