If the food you have out is his normal food, and he refuses to eat it, this could be the sign that there's something amiss inside him. Cats will often times associate normal acts like drinking water, eating food, or using the litter box with pains they feel either during those acts or just after those acts. They don't know any better. I'd suggest seeing a vet if this continues for longer than 24 hours. Another suggestion, try a little soft tuna - but just a very small amount! No more than a teaspoon. If there's no response to wanting to eat, then this may indicate what I'd stated before. Vets will often give cats that are having trouble eating a very special cat food that is really strong in smell - so strong that it almost encourages them to eat like little pigs since their sense of smell is the driving force behind eating.

If he's male, he won't be a delightful kitty until you have him neutered, suitable now he needs to be out being a pussycat. If he's genuine skinny, it relatively is a good sign that he needs to be wormed. i'm hoping you had the experience to take the ticks off of him. And if he has ticks he probable additionally has fleas (which reason the tape worms). sounds like your cat is an outdoors cat and has no longer gotten plenty interior the way of solicalization or care.

Have you tried feeding him some sort of treat you know he'd normally munch down in a second?
Just try with different kinds of things and see if he will eat it.

If he keeps up with not wanting to eat you should take him to the vet to be examined. There are plenty of reasons to why a cat can stop eating.
