I need to buy 2 baby gates as my son is slowly starting to crawl...he should be at full speed in a week...lol..I wantto put one in the kitchen and one in the hallway...I want one that either it opens by your foot or it opens easily by a push of the hand and i have a 8 yr old daughter and she needs to be able to access these gates easily. Do you have any of these types. If so, i need the names of these gates so i do not go crazy when i am at the store. thanks in advance

I do not want to have to screw nails in the wall...are there gates out there that just "stay" on the wall without screws?

We have a collapsable gate by evenflo. I'm not sure what else to call it, but it works great. It has eye screws that go into the wall & hooks into those. My 4 yr old opens & shuts it herself, so your 8 yr old shouldn't have a problem wiith it. I refused to have one that I had to jump over cause I just can't do that. This gate works great for that. I love it, i have a lareg doorway from my kitchen to my living room & was having trouble finding a gate to fit it without spending a fortune. I got this one at Walmart. Below is a link to a picture & some reviews of the one I have.

I bought The First Years Hands Free gate from Babies R Us. I keep my kitchen blocked off. It has worked great for us and my 2 year old still is not heavy enough to open it! I like the bar style better than the plastic front style, which I found gets really dirty with little baby hands. I would guess an 8 year old should have no problem, I think it takes like 30 lbs to open it.
