i'm getting random (and frequent) headaches on the right side of my head. it hurts on one spot for a fraction of a second then goes away. This is weird, but my symptom is like the guy from Garden State.

Another weird symptom is the headache stops when i'm really focused on doing something (like typing this out). But when i'm laying in bed, or just resting, i get them like crazy.

My friend told me i probably have a soemthing (like my bones) stopping blood from going to that certin part of my brain.

anyway, i was wondering if this is unusual or not. and whether i should see the doctor right away. thank you

The headache you have SOUNDS like cluster headaches well these headaches are very intense and is always on one side of the head lasts about 1.5 hrs, pain is more intense about 5 mins into the headache and they can happen many times a day. Also you mentioned the sleep disturbance which is also a major sign of cluster headache. I never watched garden state so i can't comment on that. But from the little information you have given thats what it sounds like. Anyway its good to talk to a doctor about the headaches because it could be signs of many thing. Good luck

Please see your doctor right away!!
You could have a really serious problem, or it could just be minor headaches, but it's ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry!!
I'm not a certified doctor, so there's no way I can be sure exactly what you have (or anyone else) without examination by a real, certified doctor. You should call your office today.

Here's a website with the symptoms of brain tumors (which I doubt you have if you're not haveing seizures or anything), but sometimes that's the first thing people think of when they have headaches...

Just check through the list to see if you identify with any symptoms along with headaches.

This website (familydoctor.com) has a list of things that COULD be going on with your head based on the fact that you have persistent headaches. By going through the questions, you'll be a step closer to solving the problem yourself. (But you should still see your doctor)...

Good Luck! My thoughts and prayers are with you!!

The headache on the side of your head sounds like a migraine which you can get prescription and over the counter medication for. Try migraleve or nurofen. However, i should add that I'm just speculating and i would recommend seeing your doc if you're concerned about it. I'm not too sure about them occurring when you're not focusing on something. Maybe when your mind is inactive, your thoughts are subconsciously wandering to something that's causing you stress/tension etc that could be prompting your headaches. Hope you find a solution soon.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

I'm interested to see what people say to this, because I have the same problem, and I don't have any idea what is wrong.

You probaly have a migrane, but you should see a docter, maybe he/she could give you some pills or prescription cream or something.
