please tip the groomer. we have to put up with so much more than regular hairstylists (biting, scratching, barking...). a 10%-15% tip is just perfect. if you like the trim be sure to tell the groomer to they don't change anything around the next time.

Having owned 20 grooming shop's, it's a nice gesture to tip the washing person and the groomer a few bucks....most of my groomer's were paid a percentage, not hourly.....good luck...

As a former pet companion groomer, I was never tipped except at Christmas by my regular customers. Before being a groomer, I paid only the fee charged without a tip.
Good luck with fur baby's first hair cut.

You tip your hairstylist? Tip the groomer.
I normally tip based on how happy I am with the service. I had a new stylist give me highlights and a cut 2 months ago and I was so happy with it I get her a $25 tip. If you are happy with the dog's look, tip well. NEVER piss off a groomer.
My philosophy on hairstylists and groomers is to tip well, but they can make you/your dog look like **** if they want to.

It is a service, and the serivce industry is known for receiving TIPS to show extra gratitude. Some businesses refuse, but it is a nice gesture to offer five extra bucks if they do it well and in a timely fashion. I tried to tip my groomer and she wasn't allowed to accept it, but it deffinitely will earn you some brownie points... Happy New Year!

I treat this the same as tipping a hairstylist. 10% to 15%, unless they are the salon owner, in which case, tipping is not necessary.
As someone who worked in the service industry for many years, I am so glad the thought actually occurred to you, though. :)
