If you mean lots of braids, cornrows. If you mean one or two braids, you're talking about french braids. Hope this helps!

first of all you are typing a little to fast because you didn't even write all of your question correctly, but what I think you are talking about are called cornrows,but I've never seen hair sticking out on the sides unless it is old and need to be re braided.
