It's not...Science Diet is junk. Do not feed this to your animal. Nutro, Canidae or another of the leading foods is much better. Science Diet survives off it's name -- people just assume it's good. Look online and you'll see just how badly it compares with the top foods.

You can go to Costco and buy better food than Nutro and Science Diet for 1/2 the price.

Anyone that says Nutro is junk doesn't know what they are talking about. Nutro is an all-natural food that is made with human-quality meats - no fillers and no by-products. I am not that familiar with Science Diet, but have heard that the food does contain some non-natural ingredients or animal by-products such as hooves, beaks and other such things.

Stick with Nutro and other products like Royal Canin, Wellness, or Dick VanPatten's Natural Balance - yes the very same actor from Eight Is Enough in the 70's and 80's.

It isn't. Science diet has a deal with vets, so the vet will tell you it's the best. Nutro is the best. Science diet may be the third or second best. In the end though, it's still just dog food. Ol' Roy is $8 for a 40 pound bag.

Science Diet is NOT better then Nutro. Science Diet is a high priced, low quality food filled with cheap fillers, preservatives & by products.

(and no Science Diet does NOT have a deal with vets, nor do they give out much by way of "free" food to vets & vets offices. I get so tired of hearing this said..I've worked for/with vets for 34 years and I've yet to see so called "deals" or "free" foods pass through)

It's not, it has corn in it so therefore it is not a high quality dog food. Nutro is decent but for it's price (which is way overpriced) you can actually get better if you look. There are certain grading systems to go by. I know there is a brand from Costco (kirkland) which has no corn and and actually uses MEAT and is better quality than nutro AND is affordable.

I feed my dogs Nutro as I believe it is much better than Science Diet. I give the dry dog food as it keeps their teeth cleaner than the moist dog food.

Both are junk. The Science Diet Company gives veterinary students free cat food and supports the nutrition studies.

They both have animal by-products in them.

According to my fine holistic vet, Wellness and Petguard are the best of the commonly available cat foods. There are others like Wysong etc.

Wet is best, the dry and cheaper foods are loaded with carbohydrates and sugar. Use chunks of raw beef (round is best) for their teeth.
