I have been feeling a little sniffly but haven't got a full blown cold or anything, but last night i got earache in one ear that was so bad i couldn't sleep and water came out of it, today my other ear started aching and now they both keep popping painfully and they feel quite tender. I don't have a temperature, but this morning i felt sick and dizzy, but that might have been tiredness. Will have problems getting to a GP and don't want to bother an emergency doctor, but not sure what to do about them! Any ideas?

Call your family physician. There must be someone on call. This is too long a holiday weekend for you to suffer with this. You might have an inner ear infection. Take care.

You need to get one of those ear wax removal kits. You put in some ear drops, and lay on your side for 20 or 30 minutes, then you fill a sink with pretty warm water, and you take the little ball squirter and suck up some very warm water and flush your ear. You'll probably see pieces of wax come out into the sink. Do that a couple of times a day and you'll probably be ok. If not, you'll need to get some of the anti-biotic drops. You can get a script for them at a walk in clinic. Wall mart will give you a generic version for $4 (they're actually eye drops, but they work fine).

It does sound like an ear infection to me. The dizziness is probably from the ear infection. I know you don't want to bother an ER for this, but the problem is that if an ear infection goes untreated for too long, the ear drum can rupture. That is what they are there for, and with the holiday weekend coming upon us that is a long time to go with an untreated ear infection. In the mean time, use motrin for the inflammation and a heating pad for the pain, believe me, you will need it. Good Luck!

Your sinuses have clogged. You may have a sinus infection that has traveled up your Eustachian tubes and into your ears. Get to a doctor asap.
