I'm 19 years old, I get the shakes at night almost like having a sezuire, I get the chills really bad also at night, and I get very light headed and dizzy, some times I have trouble seeing 2 feet in front of me, my cardiologist and the ER doctors say that I'm fine, when I know I'm not, what's wrong with me? The ER doctor said I'm to young to have a heart problem. My dad has major heart problems and diabetes, but he is 61 years old, could I already be inheriting his problems? I live in Wisconsin and I hear St. Lukes in Millwaukee is a great hospital, should I go? I don't have insurance, is this something I should wait on? Am I in serious condition?

Definitely get a second opinion. You may be having panic attacks - the symptoms are quite similar and feel like a heart attack. You may also have migraines and not even realize it. If you have good insurance insist upon an EKG. Usually one should expect their cardiologist and ER docs to rule out every possibility, but this is not always the case. See a different doctor. The ER in any hospital is not your best bet. They will most often only check you thoroughly if they find an immediate reason to admit you, otherwise you'll be released quickly. Is there anything in your life right now that could be causing you anxiety? I've been through the ringer with panic disorder but a little medication and terrific counseling has been getting me through it each and every day for years. I too would shake, get light-headed, nauseous and feel as if I were going to fall. The chills were the worst, they went up through my spine and made me gasp. Please ask your doctor (and a second) if the symptoms you experience could be panic or migraine-related. You may want to have your eyes checked on too.

I really wish you the best of luck. Let us know how it goes. Happy New Year!

That's your heart hurting. When your body releases stress hormones, your heart starts working harder, which makes it hurt a little. You feel the pain in your arm because our bodies aren't wired properly for internal pain, and we experience the pain from internal organs in different places that don't necessarily match with where the organ is. This is called referred pain. If your heart were not getting enough oxygen, the heart muscle would start hurting like that except the pain would keep going. It is worth talking to your doctor. There are ways to treat this. Try working on lowering your stress through meditation or a vacation or a book or a hot bath or whatever helps you relax.

Go to a cardiologist and have a stress test done, EKG, and an echo car diagram...do not fool around with this....i was young when the Doctor thought I was having a heart attack, I also had pain down my arm and very fast heart beat, After 4 days in the hospital I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse...If your pain keeps up, go to the emergency room..Good Luck.

Go see a cardiologist and get a full checkup. Heart problems in the young are rare, but they do exist. If you don't have insurance, see a medical school clinic or public hospital.

You should search for a better hospital, for this can be a sign of a stroke. Well, a stroke coming anyway, the sooner you find a hospital the better. Get some insurance too, but do this immediately.
