I've run out of my unsweetened (baking) chocolate supplies. So, does anyone know if someone ships Baker's or Nestle unsweetened chocolate to Europe? And at a reasonable price - a 50 dollar surcharge per shipping is a bit too much...

I'm in Finland, and unsweetened chocolate is completely unknown here. Brownies are made with cocoa powder and they're just not the same that way :-). The European brands I've found on the net are really expensive - and too "fine".

Grocery shops in Europe should have unsweatened chocolate. It may not be the same brand which means it's definately better than Baker's...:-P

Try Valrhona...it's the best in the world!

Nestle has offices in Austria, Italy, Romania, etc, and is headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland. It is not an American firm.
They may have French and Belgian offices, too, so depending on where you are in Europe, you may be able to get it more cheaply by checking the website location for their office closest to you there.

Scharffen Berger in the US does bulk boxes of very good baking chocolate, but since they are closed today thu Monday, I couldn't call to get delivery rates for you. Try their 1-800 number on Tuesday:

amazon.com sells many Nestle Products and they have the new grocery division online. But I didn't have your country or zone code to see what it costs to ship to you there. Try there.

Ask some other expats you hang with there, too. Wherever you are, someone among that group may already know the answer.

Wow! They don't sell unsweetened chocolate in Europe? After all the chocolate they make? Anyway, do you know anyone in the US that could just buy some and send it to you and you reimburse them? I will do it for you if you want.
