Well man, that's funny, because it seems to me to be the other way around:
When an Atheist so much as sneezes, Christians here tend to say "well, that's what you get for being Godless!" But when some sin of Christianity is brought up... let's say... the Inquisition, it's all "well... they weren't really Christians, anyhow."
Please. We're living in a day and age where Christian leaders blame things like AIDS and 9/11 on people's lack of piety. If you'd like to pick out the mote in non-believers' eyes, I'd suggest you deal with your beam, first.
Incidentally, rouge is make-up. Unless you mean "red" as in "bloody" in which case, nice job. Christianity has a history absolutely *mired* in blood, despite modern Christian attempts at spinning.

I think we bash the person who has does something horrible more severely regardless of their faith if they claim that faith with greater zeal than most persons.
The "average" murder or rape is reported in the news without much mention of what faith the perpetrator claims.
But when a priest, or leader of a church commit the act, it is different. People who loudly proclaim their religion, and are leaders in the faith are expected to have *better* morals than the flocks they lead, not the reverse.
This is the case with more than just Christianity, though. I do not condemn all Muslims for the acts of select terrorists. The ones who make it onto the news for blowing up themselves and others are the radical fringe. They get more airtime than the average Muslim woman who works in the office next to yours.
The louder you yell about what you *are*, the more glaring when it is discovered what you are *not*.

well it's wrong regardless but it's christians who claim to live by a higher set of moral standards and claim that everybody else is immoral so therefore since you christians set the bar so high then you have to face the music for the whole bunch

Atheists never do anything horrific because no-god told them to. In other words, if they do something horrible it's not because of their faith. Whereas christians attack non-christians every day - because of their religion.

Christians set out moral standards so they have to pay the price and face the accusations of hypocrisy when they fail to live up to them.

Wow. I've never heard of thousands of years of oppression and violence referred to as the work of 'a few rogue Christians'.
You should spend more time studying history.
