i am a decorative painter and i have painted a few princess themed rooms over the years....and one very lovely and classic component to a such a room are faux painted stone walls. or suggestions of stone or block. maybe with some ivy trailing in between them. walls with this technique lend themselves as a perfect backdrop to accessories like...chandeliers, wall sconces, etc.
one room we did we went all out along the top one fourth of the room we hand painted a large vinette "border" of several princess fairytales....rapuzel, snow white, anestasia, etc...and above the headboard i painted a large archtop stone window and inside was life-sized sleeping beauty being kissed by prince charming. this room was all done in a renassaince style and to this day is one of my favorite projects!
also...on wall work such as this...its always fun to add a little iridescent glitter where magic wands are twirling...or a princess gown is swirling.......................

have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
