The GENFORUM is one of the best places to find descendants of a particular surname. What you find are people interested in the ancestry of a person because they are a decendant. So, they can lead you to their family.

BTW, looking for Maryhill - there were no less than three places called Maryhill in different parts of the world. If you specified a country, there may have been better information available.
