Tuxedos have tails and you look more like a penguin and are worn at cocktail parties & weddings. Tuxedos are commonly black but some are white.
Business suits are less fancier and are worn by executives and lawyers. They have neckties, & come in other colors.

I think a tux is for more formal occasions like weddings etc. possibly the coat and shirt while suits can be worn just about anytime... to the office etc etc
