What are my options of free video converters if I want to convert a wmv to a quicktime video?

There is a lot of free conversion software available, some not so good, some look cheap and nasty but do quite a good job;

You can get a whole variety of material if you use a search string like: "saving video files in other formats video converters", same thing can be done with variations on a theme, but go from general to specific in the search string.
