It was strange, but I experienced something like that in malls and grocery stores when I was about 8 months pregnant. I think I was paniced that I would be stranded somewhere and not know where the nearest bathroom was, or if I could use it. It's not so bad now, but there were remnants of anxiety about these places for a long time afterwards.
I wonder if something bad happened to you in a mall, or some place that reminds you of a mall. It might help to get psychiatric treatment to try to figure it out, or you could just not go to the malls.

Maybe you are afraid of spending to much money, that too can lead to panic attacks, if you are worried about how to repay you credit card in the new year .Ha , Ha, Have a good one!Or build up your self confidence, and take some of your friends shopping with you,if you feel an attack coming, sit down, could be the air in the Mall ,always pumped in air that doesn't agree with your lungs.

Avoid the mall until you think you are comfortable enough to try it again.Could be that you really don't like the wide open spaces or the crowds. I tend to panic when I go on the freeway and I have avoided it for about a year now, I am finally going to give it a go and try it next weekend.Good Luck to you-I know how you feel.

When my panic attacks started 22 years ago it was in my 12th grade math class. They grew to the mall, bridges and then the highway. Don't feed into my pattern but learn from it. Get tough, get a good support friend (that won't judge you) and a good family doctor that can prescribe a low dose medication and kick this fear in the butt.
You can do it...

I am a sufferer of panic attack also but mine comes on whenever i am by myself but i started to have them after i caught my husband having an affair with some one 9 and a half years younger than i was.some one that grew up in church also.you need to know that it is not he mall or the people at the mall that is making you get panic attacks it is something more than that and you need to find it out for yourself.maybe you need to talk to some one even under hypnosis to find out what is really causing you to have them.First i never knew what was happening to me it was until i had talked to a psychiatrist that i found out why it was really happening to me.the pproblem i had with my husband ,i thought i could handle it by myself so i pushed it to the back of my mind and it came back to haunt me in a very bad way it even lead to a nervous breakdown for me.So even though it might look simple you need to talk to somebody before something else happens//////

Hey I have them 2 I have had them 4 the last 10 years mine started in any store with bright fluoresent lights or beeping sounds from the registers! To put yourself in the situation actually makes you deal with this burden on your own but also a doctor can perscribe pills to.

Well, you could quit going to the mall. However, the best solution would be to go to a doctor who might perscribe an antidepressant. If you do take an antidepressant, make sure you have it monitored by a psychiatrist to ensure it is the right one for you.

Did something previously happen there? They might also be caused by large amounts of people. Some people really seize up in large crowds. I'd see your doctor to see if they have any suggestions. I have a friend that takes medication for her panick attacks, it seems to really help. Good luck!
