Sounds a lot like my husband was when we first got together. He was shy and said lots of guys are shy like that. It's the old fear of rejection thing, ya know? We all are afraid of getting embarassed like that. Makes you very vulnerable to go out on a limb and directly ask someone or tell someone you like them.
With him, one evening when we were talking, he was making me smile and being so cute (again). I was in a good mood, so I just leaned over and gavehim a smooch on the lips! I have NEVER done that before! I decided I liked it and he didn't seem to object, so I "got right back up on that perverbial horse" and kissed him again! That was all it took! We've been married for nearing 6 years now!
We surprise ourselves sometimes! I was out on a limb by kissing him, but it was the only way to find out, I guess! He was shy and it would've been awhile till he took that plunge, I think!
Good luck!

Oh you stupid, stupid women. When will you get it though your heads, that these so called "hints" are so small and stupid that there is no scientific equipment sensitive enough to pick them up, let alone a bloke getting them. Unless one of your mates goes up to him and says "She really, really likes you" then he is no doubt missing these so called "hints" as we always do! We never get them, and if you cotton onto this now, you will have a better life, as you won't have a string of failed relationships because you think he has ignored all these "hints" that you've given him.
Also if you've set your mates onto him, he is now probably running for his life, as the last thing we men want is a media circus, with all your mates "in on it" Do you know how much pressure that puts on him? A bunch of girls snickering at him? Read a few of these posts in single and dating from boys, who say "I want to talk to her, but she is ALWAYS WITH HER MATES"!!!
And what is stopping you asking him out? Why do your mates have to drop hints for him to do something about it? Are you from the Victorian age????

when u say hints from ur friends.. do u mean like they are telling him that u like him or something else?
maybe hes inexperienced and doesnt know how to handle the situation, maybe he is already seeing someone?
well all i can say is.. atleast he smiles at you, thats a gd sign :)
sometimes people can miss hints you throw at them or just be plain shy that they wont reply or speak properly.
you need to be alone with him one day, once you got him alone speak to him. speaking is the main part then from there once you are both comfortable speaking after few mins or so.. hint across or just plain ask him out.. dont be scared, go for it!
if you want to hint i recommend tryin somehting like "would u like to go out at the weekend and watch a film or something?"
or even less direct, say "i wanna go town shopping but need someone to go with".
you can do it! gd luck!

He's possibly very shy or maybe the feeling is not mutual.
But since you seem very confident, anyway more than he must be, why not just ask him directly?
Some very shy guys like assertive women.
So just go for it, or you both may well miss out on something.

Sounds just like me,Shy.He's probably to scared to talk to you in a persoanl way because of what your freinds or even you might say.get him on his own, invite him to the coffee shop or somewhere not to intimidating, where its socialbly comforting and just pop the question"will you or won't you"being shy means he's waiting for you to make the first move, and no matter who says what or hints galore,he aint gonna budge.try not to talk about it to your freinds to much as this would make him even more uncomfortable.or i could be wrong and he's not shy,but it does sound like what i do if i find someone likes me.good luck

Fortune favours the bold! I waited a year to ask the guy I like out, waiting for signals. Turns out he was in a long term relationship and had never mentioned her. D'oh! What a waste of my life!!!!

Break the ice and start-up a conversation. While you talk ask lots of questions. A good one, is to ask about their first love and other experiences.

well, if i were you id get in there quick. it seems he spending more time chatting to your friends than he is to you!! my friends were buggers for it. your not sending clear messages to him really. for he knows your friends could be winding him up. it needs to come from the horses mouth so to speak lol. just go for it, and if he turns you down, then so what? it seems you've got some decent mates that'll look after you ;)

I think he's shy. You can also ask him then you'll know for sure. I don't think he's gay otherwise he wouldn't smile at you or ''small talk'' with you.
