The only way to stop things of this nature is to face your fears. Meaning start talking to people, You may suprised on the reaction. If your fear is rejection, is that any worse then how you are feeling right now? Loosen up, have fun, just be yourself! You cannot change anyone but yourself. You are in control of you, no one else. Good luck! Have fun DAMNIT! : )

The bestthing you can do is learn these six words.

Where, when, why, what, how and who.

If you use this at the start of any conversation it makes the other person talk as they can never be answered yes or no, so it takes all the pressure off of you, simply listen to the answers and ask another.

Examples: What are your thoughts about x ? Whats your take on Y? Where abouts do you come frome - whats it like there?
What do you do for a living? What does your job entail?
Why do you think that? How do you see this? and so on.

These six words are called kiplings six journeymen as in,
I had six servicng journeymen
they served me well and true
they were where, when why, what
How and who.

He was referring to how easily these words opened up a conversational journey as you can't give a simple one word answer, it forces the other person to talk.

It may seem a very small piece of advice, but I promise you that if you simply have a few of these handy questions in your head, starting with any of those six words, then meeting other people in situations where your shyness can be a problem for you becomes much less of a nightmare.

Over time, you will be seen by others as a genuinely good conversationalist and a terrific listener.

Hope they help

Have a very happy new year

you have to show that you are not shy because when your shy you would have freind cause when they talk to you you dont talk to them so they cant get to know you so act like your not shy and people wont feel awkward about your shyness and if you know that you can be something else then shy you are not shy at all or dont let the kids get you down for them not likeing you because you are shy cause they were shy at one ponit so be yourself no some one else youself and you will be fine in school have a good day at school and
You have to force yourself to not be shy. I used to be shy and people thought I was just being mean and I hated them but I was really just shy. So unless you want people to think you hate them you have to not be shy. That doesnt mean talking to random people for no reason just smile more and give longer anserws not just one word anserws, (yes and no, fine) when they ask you something it is because they are interested and they really do want to know so tell them the truth and in detail too. But most importantly smile more. Trust me you wont look dumb so long as its a small smile. No teeth just curve your lips and be friendly k?

You're already sensitive to the fact that your shyness may be a problem for others--good for you! So, focus on the other person, like a hostess at a party tries to make sure everyone is having fun or a teacher tries to include all the kids in games and activities.

I tried to stick with groups of people I knew when going out or doing things in public. It just gave me a bit of extra comfort and then I forgot about my shyness or anxiety.

Just know that no one likes a ninny. Confidence is sexy.

Oh I'm sorry, was I wrong? There seems to be someone here that likes weakminded and whimpy people.
