I am wondering how much longer I need to keep disinfecting my house of the stomach virus that my children and husband had a couple of days ago? I really dont want to get it, I've been frequently washing my hands, and disinfecting things.. I am just wondering how long after they are better should I disinfect and wash my hands so frequently? At which point do I stop worrying so much?

Once things are disinfected, it should be done. People will shed the virus for 72 hours after the symptoms stop. If you wait 72 hours after they feel better, then sanitize, you should be ok. Just make sure you use the right cleaning product. Hard surfaces should be cleaned with a bleach-based product (3/4 cup of bleach per gallon of water works). Leave it on the surface for a few minutes, then wipe off. This obviously won't work on the carpet, but is great for cleaning the bathroom. Without cleaning, the virus can survive up to a month on hard surfaces (in ideal conditions).

I know your concern...it is always wise to frequently wash your hands after someone in the house has had a viral infection...colds...vomiting or diarrhea etc. But remember viruses are very fragile...they do not have along shelf life :) If it has been several days past their infections, and you have done a good job of disinfecting toilets, dishes, washed towles and washcloths , bed linens etc. you are probably in the safe zone...Good for you!

it relatively is led to with the aid of one in each and every of various viruses. those viruses are in many circumstances modern-day in contaminated foodstuff or eating water. drugs to decelerate the quantity of diarrhea (antidiarrheal drugs) shouldn't acquire with out first speaking with your wellness care service. they might reason the an infection to final longer. the indicators won't even take place until a pair of days after the an infection. Then they are able to final from24 to 496 hours. gentle situations bypass away speedier. I as quickly as had it and it lasted 4 days; no longer so undesirable the final couple of days yet nevertheless cramping and a few diarrhea. be useful your brother washes his hands thoroughly with very heat SOAPY water every time he leaves the washing room! do no longer enable him cope with foodstuff you will eat and don't enable him cope with plates, silverware, etc. which you employ to eat with. do no longer (i comprehend this could be confusing considering the fact that he's your BROTHER) be kissing on him and letting him sneeze on you or kiss on you the two. The extra you circumvent touch, the extra helpful your probability is of no longer getting the virus.
