Sweetie, for a $200 necklace from even a FRIEND, if that was me, I would have AT LEAST bought a $5/10 universal long distance phone card found AT LEAST a pay phone and called them to say 'hey' AT LEAST on Christmas Eve. And your being in HS I dont think u guys really know the meaning nor care about that 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' stuff...do you???

That is the saying. If he understands that you don't have a cell phone or if you have told him I don't think he will get upset or think you are rude. However, if he doesn't know you didn't have a cell phone or that you had no way to call him he might very well get upset or think you are rude. Remember, communication is the basis of a good relationship. Always make sure you communicate your feelings to your boyfriend and in clear concise terms so there will be no misunderstanding.

Really, not having a cell phone is not really an excuse they are other phones than a cell and after giving you an $200 necklace I would at least want a call and calling someone has nothing to do with abstinence

Yes absence does make the heart grow fonder, but a nice thank-you note with a bit of your Christmas activities dropped in the mail would have been nice too.

I'm sure he understands why you didn't call. Don't worry about not calling, but think about snail mail next time.

No...in a case like this, with a reasonably expensive present on the line, It makes the heart PISSED. You don't have access to phone for a couple of 20minute calls...Don't be surprised if he doesn't have much to say to you when you see him next. Your in High School, you live on the phone any other time.

I think you should have checked in with him at least once to find out how things were going with his holiday.
