I've recently been to the docs. This wheezing, 18 stone gentleman advised me to stop smoking. He sweated and wheezed his way through the appointment, saying that there was nothing wrong with me. I don't eat veg, never have done. Nor fruit. I'm 11and a half stone, slim, 41. (Check out my 360 profile for a piccie of me!)
He also said that I was "an anomaly", and that I would probably live to be bout 90!
I don't drink alcohol. Why should I quit what I enjoy doing?
It only seems to be fat folk that tell me to quit.!!!

I think fat people should also be placed in their very own fat zone in restaurants, bars and other public places. They should be ashamed of themselves.

And before a few start preaching about the secondary dangers of smoking and the pressure it places on the health services - try to place things in context please: you'll inhale enough free radicals by frying a slice of bacon as you would a packet of 20 cigarettes - and obesity probably costs as much to treat (and has a greater impact on the environment and world hunger).

So fat people - look at yourselves before judging others. For the rest of you - focus as much of your attentions on fat people as you do on smokers. I'd then say 'fair point' ... and perhaps consider quitting something that I really do enjoy on my own volition.

And, of course, for my own personal health reasons.

Lets see does emphysema ring a bell for you or lung cancer or maybe COPD which is the forerunner of emphysema in some cases. If you have never watched and end stage COPD patient struggle to try to get enough air to breathe and be so anxious because he cannot seem to get enough air then you do not have a clue why you should quit smoking. Have you ever seen a person who fell off a roof and was now in the hospital paralzyed from the waist down but had to be a on a vent for a long long time only because his lungs were so damaged and weak from his years of smoking? These are all reasons to quit. It is not pretty to take care a patient in end stage COPD who has air hunger and anxiety from this or to see a best friend of yours on a vent and unable to be weaned off for over a month just because his lungs were so badly damaged from smoking.

June thirtieth would be 25 years for me. i became a especially heavy smoker... 2-3 packs of Marlboro Reds an afternoon, in spite of the undeniable fact that it wasn't that undesirable. i in my opinion had to stop, so i think of that helped. i'm soooo happy that i do no longer smoke anymore. and that i'm continually careful, as i even have self assurance that i might replace into addicted back with merely one cigarette. good success and shop up the coolest artwork.

Ok, use that as an excuse to further jeopardise your health, but don't come complaining when you end up with emphysemia, bronchitis or even lung cancer. I'm not obese or even overweight and I'm telling you this from personal experience of family members that had the same attitude as you when they were younger and then didn't leave to ever meet their grandchildren. It's your choice. Take care.

I wonder why you went to the docs?.I think maybe they tell everyone as a matter of course to give up smoking. You do of course know that your life and those of all around you would be better if you did give up.Otherwise you would not be so angry.Interestingly enough I am not fat!!

Wonder why you went to the doctor if you're so healthy...

Smoke yourself to death for all I care. It's entirely your choice. Just don't expect my tax payments to fund any care you need through the NHS.

Oh, and if you blow smoke over me in public, so I have to go to work reaking of your fags, I have the right to throw dog **** at your clothes . Just so we're straight on that.

Fat people (and otherwise) can certainly say whatever they want. Ultimately, the choice is yours. If you're comfortable with the risk, then by all means, continue to smoke and f**k the fat folks.

Why obese people tell you to stop smoking is maybe because they are unhealthy, and knoes what it is like to be a smoker, etc.
Don't quit what you like doing. Good Luck..
