dont worry about him continuing to do that...if it happened on the account of you not letting him out itll be ok...when training a puppy the way you are make sure you keep them on a schedule...its one of the easiest ways to train dogs...start letting your dog out at certain times and try to stick to it as close as you can...we trained our dog this way and she was trained fairly quickly

Is the crate the right size for him?
Puppies normally won't use the bathroom where they have to sit. The crate should offer him enough space to get up and move in a circle, but not space enough to poop and sit on the other end. Rememebr, puppies need to be walked every couple hours.
If the crate is the proper size, and he had to sit in the poop, then more than likely he will not make it a habit. It's possible that you left him too long and he just physically could not hold it anymore.

If the crate is really big for the puppy block it off giving him just enough room to turn around in. If and when he does it again after laying in it he should never do it again. Dogs learn quick, if they can move away from the mess and lay somewhere else then they will continue to do it in the crate. But if they can't move they will hold it.
Also good rule of thumb. For every 3 months of age equal 1hr to 2hrs at the most for potty breaks. Keep that in mind

Work on having a set schedule with your puppy. After he has his breakfast, wait about an hour or two, then take him outside and let him go to the bathroom. If you see him sniffing around, I'd take him outside, because he might be looking for a place to go. After supper time, we pick up the water bowl and don't allow our puppies any water. (It's just like making sure little kids who wet the bed don't drink anything before bedtime.)
Don't be too hard on yourself! It's a learning process for both of you. =)

Clean it up with bleach. Next time just try to make sure you let him out sooner. He shouldn't do it again,he can't hold it forever, try to put him on a schedule of when you let him out,if it can be avoided never deviate from the schedule this makes the transition from crate to roaming the house a lot easier.

in the first place your crate is too big that is why your pup is going in it 's crate get a smaller crate one that is just big enough to sit up lay down in and turn around in . That way he will be snug and comfortable and will most definately not deficate or urinate in it . good luck and god bless .

most likely he just really had to go and you didn't get him outside in time. dogs don't like to do their business in a crate; he really shouldn't keep doing it, as long as you take him out frequently. he should be taken out every few hours at least, and he'll learn he's supposed to go outside. good luck!

If your dog poops or pees in the cage then the cage is too big. Make sure you block off a part of it so he can only sit down.

Generally when they don't like to go where they sleep. He probably will not continue to do it. Only if he really has to go.
