I have a dog that was neutered, but he only had one descended testicle, and the vet did not do surgery to find the other one (long story, please do not tell me that should be done - there were extenuating circumstances). So, that dog "tied" with a female in season. Is there ANY chance at all that a breeding will result in puppies if the testicle is in the abdominal cavity?

By the way - I know that a totally neutered dog can "tie" with a female in season - I have seen it with my own eyes. Of course, no puppies! But, this dog may have a hidden testicle.

Technically, neutering refers to the removal of the reproductive organs on both male and female animals. However, neutering, also known as orchidectomy, is most commonly referred as the de-sexing of male animals, removing the testicles.

Technically, if both testicles weren't removed it is possible a breeding will result in puppies.

Not likely. The vet would have been able to find the other one through palpitation and if he thought it would be a risk then he would have removed it. It is more likely it just never got the second one.

However, if by some small chance your female does get pregnant, then have the boy neutered again and if the pups are akc then they will need to be sold on limited registration. Otherwise, have any puppy buyers sign a contract that they will have the puppies fixed. This is a hereditary condition and you don't want to be the one to pass it on through your puppies.

do not comprehend why your vet could inform you to attend till your canines is a three hundred and sixty 5 days previous, if the testes have not descended via 9 months, they are not going to. sure, he unquestionably can get a woman pregnant and he has a genetic concern that would desire to not be handed on. i've got had 3 canines with undescended testes (basically one testes even inspite of the shown fact that) and all have been neutered at 6 months, if the testes isn't down via then, not lots risk it somewhat is going to descent - unquestionably no reason to anticipate a three hundred and sixty 5 days.

It is possible but unlikely. Usually the retained testicle is withered and is sterile.

Because of the high rate of cancer associated with a retained testicle as well as very increased rate of future aggression and other issues you really should find a vet to remove that testicle.

It is possible but since sprem can not live at higher temperatures the testicle inside the body cavity is warmer than normal and most times the sperm are dead becasue they are to warm.
It is possible but not all that likely.
Many times the testicle will become cancerous.

IN theroy no, if the decended one was removed the retane one should not be fertile. now since dogs don't read the books the chances that he would be the one exception ever is probably driectly proportional to how badly you DON"t want pups.
