So, here's the deal--I became interested in someone, a student, in September. Come to find out, he's a foreign exchange student and he needs help in English class. I offer to tutor him. I brihg along a friend who speaks his language, since she was born in his native country. He doesn't like this. I guess things got off to a bad start. I basically ignored him for the rest of September. Very girlishly, in October, I passed him a note in study hall (yes, the classic note) telling him I didn't hate him. Apparently he told his host he was "sad" that I was ignoring him. He was happu y about this, and we continued corresponding and saying hi to eachother. Nobvember and December was when we started talking more and more. He started to help me out in math, and every sign pointed to him having a crush on me. Then, one day, he walked into study hall rolling his eyes and acting like a snob...day before vacation he acted rudely to me when I offered him candy, so I snubbed him and gave everyone else

candy. After that, he appeared sad at lunch when he didn't see me seeing him as I passed by. So a few days ago I setnt him an email telling him I was acting so stypudstupid because I liked hgim and I asked him how Christmas in America was. He hasn't responded. I see him again Monday, where do I go for here? Should I move on?

Are things allright in his host family? Lots of foreign teenagers find out that host families are just using them - taking their money, making them babysitters, not letting them have relationships. I think he was told he cannot have a girlfriend which is a rule of the exchange placement agencies - yeah, stupid, very stupid but the guy can get deported if he makes the agency mad even if his parents paid $4000 to $10000 for him to come to the USA. That plus having trouble with English is a lot of stress - if he fails his parents lose their money. Ask him if he needs help. tell him to go to www.csfes.org if he is being used by his host family Ask him if he is having trouble with his exchange agency. I don't think it's you. I think he is in a foreign country and something is stressing him out. If he is in trouble he can get help.

I actually think he might be interested. Since he was sad when (he thought) you didn't notice him at lunch....just maybe hes playing hard to get or something like that. Hes prolly confused.

You said he from a different country. Maybe in his old country they have different ways of getting a girl than in america. Maybe you could try talking to him about it. Tell him that hes sending mixed signals and ur confused.

Yeah. Just let it go. It apparently seems like he's not interested.
