Easy. Interview your girlfriend about them. Ask what their jobs are, or schools, majors or interests. Do they know other people you know? What sports or arts are they into? What music do they like, what clubs or places do they like to go to? Where are they all from, get some background information on them, nothing too probative, but just enough so that you have some idea who they really are and what they enjoy talking about...stay up on current events in the lives of these people and all your friends, makes people feel good when you remember things about them.
Listen when they talk, being a good listener is just as important as being a good talker. Ask your girlfriend for advice on this, she knows them better than you do and can probably give you a bit of an inside scoop on their lives, without giving away things that may be too personal in nature of course. It's very considerate of you to want to be more involved...give it time, as you get to know their personalities, likes and dislikes, you will understand more about how to talk to them. Good luck.

Gosh being around all those females must be intimidating!! ;) Oh let me see. I would hang back...observe a bit. What do they talk about? Movies? Music? Their family? Boyfriends? Pets? Books? Cars? Web pages?

If you want to score major points, listen to what each girl talks about. Then ask her about it...even at a later date. "Amy, how is your brother doing? You said last wk he had the flu." Major girl points! Will score with your GF too when she sees you take an interest in them (and the friends brag about you!). Just takes observation. Take a deep breath and jump in there.

You know, I'm married and still have this problem when we hang out with my husband's friends. They all work for the Navy, so obviously, the conversation ends up being about work. Which leaves me sitting quietly and listening with little to no input of my own.
