Any suggestions regarding a buy-in for $2/1, $4/2, no limit hold
'em? ( a real casino poker room -not on-line). I'm thinking $100/$200 respectively. Enough or too little?

50 times the big blind and set a loss limit of 2/3 of your bankroll . also the smart player will take his stake and his profit off the table. of that total if you give back ten percent it is time to get up and leave.

Every poker room has a minimum and a maximum buy in for each table. Always buy in for the maximum. If you cannot afford the maximum you are playing at too high a limit.

When you buy in for the max you are going to be in a more comfortable chip position and less likely to get pushed around.

In most casinos the maxI'mum buy in for a 1-2 no limit game is 400-500 anyways. I like to buy in for as much as i can, i want to have the table covered at all times, so i can play my stack against others so when we get all the money in the pot, im getting the maximum in the pot as possible. I love playing at Caesars palace in Vegas because on there 2-5 no limit game they have no cap on the buy-in so you can buy in for minimum or as much as you want to risk.

At Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, the $1-$2 NL hold'em will let you buy in for between $60 and $300.

In NL Hold'em, only suckers buy in for less than the max.

Your buy-in must be around 50 times the big bet, to be comfortable .
