Shaving cuts the hair at the level of the skin which is why you get the little 'holes'. It is actually just the hair. Waxing will pull the hair out by the root. You could get it waxed, then to maintain just tweeze a few hairs when needed.

Women can grow facial hair if their hormonal balance changes. This can occur any time but usually happens around the time a woman has her period, is pregnant, or going through "the change". Shaving will not make it grow more it will make the follicles of the hair that is already there grow back thicker. Waxing can be painful, and it is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. The best, permanent , and painless solution is laser hair removal. Unfortunately it is also the most expensive.

Do not, I repeat don not shave it... waxing isn't that bad and is your best answer... find someone good. Maybe have a glass of wine before doing the wax. You'll be fine! Shaving will definitely make it look worse, and bleaching is simply ugly. Girlfriend, it's time to make an appointment to get it waxed. If not, save some money and get electrolisis.

I'm having the same problem! Do not shave it becuase it'll grow back thinker and darker and you'll have to shave like a man and I wouldn't wax, but waxing is a good option. I use hair removal creme and it's perfect! Use "Nair". It has nice scents of different fruits and stuff! It's really nice, you should try it.

My moustache became noticeable when I was 9 yeas old. I have tried just about everything and this is what has worked best for me.
shave it with one of those little electric personal trimmers - at most drugstores.
or get it professionally waxed. It won't grow back as quickly. I go every two weeks to my nail shop where they are certified to do waxing. I get my brows and upper lip for around $15.

Well, whatever you do... DONT SHAVE IT!! Shaving makes it much worse, especially because you are a brunette. What you could do is bleach them. There are many products out there especially designed to bleach the hairs on your upper lip, so you could try that. Another thing that you could do is threading. Many salons offer threading, they just take a special thread, and thread your hair out in a special way and it doesn't grow back all stubly, or that fast.
Good Luck!

waxing is not that bad. i say try it for the first time but give yourself some time before you see people- it will be red there.
i bought one of those small electronic razors for eyebrows and above the lip when im too busy to run and get a wax. those are painless. the hair takes a whole month to grow back...and its painless. dont worry it doesnt grow out that fast.

Try a hair removal cream like Veet or Nair. They make products specifically for facial hair which is milder than the type you would use on your legs. Same results as waxing, but pain free.x

I use Nair Mousse. Its a moussey substance and apply it anywhere, leave on for about 8 minutes and then wipe off with a cloth. It burns a little but nothing like wax and its smoothe,no bumps and no stubble when growing back in.

Waxing only hurts for a few seconds and it won't leave holes. Shaving WILL make it grow quicker.
