After washing your hair, put some pomade in your hand and add a little water for easier spreading, and then very lightly finger it through your hair not touching your scalp so that you don't get a "greasy" look. Allow it to dry and then comb through it if you want, or leave it if the curls look good. If this seems too heavy, get a lighter one or a gel, but not a mousse. This can work on straight hair as well.
Always rinse with the coldest water you can stand after using a shampoo and conditioner for straight hair. The cold water "locks down" the hair cuticle and makes hair appear slicker, less frizzy.
also not shampooing every day will help because the natural oils in your hair will keep the hair locked together. unless you think your hair is too greasy if you don't wash.

I hear ya! I have MAJOR frizz n curl! I love the curl, not the frizz. I use sunsilk shampoo and conditioner, then afterwards, just use an anti-frizz and use more than you think you should. I do. BUT, be careful, too much antifrizz and you will get the flat look. Just use an even amount all over your hair and that will keep it even.

Shampoo every other day and conditioni every day. Only use lukewarm to cold water to wash your hair in, and try to use shampoos and conditioners specially made for your hair type.
Only brush your hair with a wide tooth comb.
Tresemme has a mousse made for curly hair that does not contain alcohol, it has definitely tamed my hair down.
