NO! Often times people will substitute applesauce for all or part of the oil in the recipe to make something low fat, but you cannot substitute applesauce for eggs. Eggs are what make your recipes rise properly.

You can substitute applesauce for the oil in a recipe. If you use it to substitute for the egg, whatever you're baking won't rise.

I use applesauce to replace the oil in cakes. it works wonderfully. And btw, it doesn't work for cookies. Tried it and failed. Just works for cakes. I wouldn't try replacing the egg though. That's a necessary ingredient.

I do not use apple sauce to replace an egg, per se, though I have heard people say you can
I DO use apple sauce to replace OIL in a baked good sometimes, and that works fine!
