I wouldn't listen to the people who have posted. From their responses it is clear that they know nothing about dealing or living with chronic pain. I hate to say it but it sounds like you really need to see a physician. Neuropathic (Nerve) pain responds very poorly to OTC medications. You might need narcotics. The good news is that if they are taken for pain and as Rx'd by your doctor the chances of becoming addcited are very low. You will of course become dependent on them if taken for awhile but remember, dependence is not the same thing as addiction.

you're genuinely not a nasty man or woman for taking discomfort drugs. each and every now and then that's really mandatory. Have i actual had something except drugs heal the discomfort? sure. basically very last week I had a nasty migraine brewing as our community choir prepare all started. As I sang the eye-catching, complicated music of the Messiah and the baroque music in German we were engaged on, the discomfort completely went away and stayed away. even if it became the diversion or the music itself i do not recognize for particular. I basically recognize it worked. i'm in a position to "imagine away" some discomfort as well, frequently more desirable minor discomfort. i have got here upon that rigidity aspect rub down remedy has healed a lot muscle discomfort i have had. i have also had mind-blowing reviews with prayer therapeutic the discomfort - and the ailment or damage that brought with reference to the discomfort. For some varieties warmth takes it away at the same time as for different varieties ice packs artwork more desirable. I actually have also had many circumstances at the same time as the basically problem that would want to shelter it became drugs. Do what works for you, and what you experience comfortable utilising and don't be disturbed about what all and sundry else says. it truly is between you and your physician.

I have lower Lumbar back pain and I live with it everyday. I'm not trying to be a big Man here, pain hurts, but you have to learn how to make that pain work for you at a lighter stage without having to rely on pain killers.
On the other hand, if your pain is Moderate to Severe daily and nightly then I guess your gonna have to take pain pills, but beware you can turn into a junkie too!
Chronic pain is no easy ride....it has severe consequences.

It sounds like one or more of your bones are out of place. Have you tried a chiropractor? It's odd, how doctors will never recommend a chiropractor, yet *they* can't do anything for you, but fill you full of pills.
If you can't afford a chiropractor right now, maybe make due with a prescription strength Ibuprofen, for the swelling and pain. An electric massager w/heat therapy would probably help as well.
Hope you feel better soon ... I soooo know how you feel. :(

Have you tried heating pads and muscle relaxing rubs like Icy Hot? You can typically get those OTC at the pharmacy.
