Caramel would be very nice. Ask your hairstylist to hold different colored swatches on your scalp so you can get an idea of which to get. The downside of red highlights is it's more noticable when they grow out. Caramel can be blended and look more natural which will give you more time between touch ups.

I have the same color hair. I had alot of compliments when I had a low light and a highlight put in. I did a blonde and a red (not a bright red) and It looked awesome!

I have a similar colour to what yours sounds like, and when I first started getting mine done, I'd get a highlight in blonde and a lowlight in a brown 2 shades darker than my natural colour...I'd recommend this for you, but if you don't like the blonde...yeah, try caramel, with a lowlight with it.
Above all, talk to your colourist, they know hair!

I agree with some of the PP - Ask your stylist. Minehelped tremendously. I will say be careful - once you get highlights, you could get the "dye disease" as my husband calls it. I went in for a few highlights for fun one day and it has progressed until I cannot remember my real color!! LOL.
Anyway. If you are unsure, just take baby steps.

My cousin tried a purple colour and a pink and they both suited her brown hair - maybe you should try that

Dark blonde would be good, maybe red would look ok, or dye your whole head a lighter brown.
