What does YOUR religion believe in? I ask this because I read that Saddam died with a Quran in his hands and I looked it up at dictionary.com to see what it was. It said "the sacred text of Islam, divided into 114 chapters, or suras: revered as the word of God, dictated to Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel, and accepted as the foundation of Islamic law, religion, culture, and politics."

So this makes me wonder who is Muhammad, do they too believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior and if there are other religions who base their beliefs off of HIM dying for our sins.

I would like to understand the beliefs of other religions.

Yes, I can explain to you. Thank you for asking a good question.

Firstly, I will acquaint you with some verses about Jesus Son of Mary in the Qu'ran. There are numerous verses about the Prophet Jesus in the Qu'ran.

I will enlighten you, God-willing

Firstly, the main point of Christianity is that Jesus died on the cross for your sins... We do not believe in this, rather we believe you have to sincerely repent sincerely to God for any wrong that you do, and that since God is merciful he will forgive us if he wills.

This explanation below is the Classical Scholar Ibn Kathir explaining the verses of the Qu'ran which were revealed to Muhammad from God through the Archangel Gabriel about the plot to kill Jesus Son of Mary.

The Jews Plot to Kill Jesus

God states that the Children of Israel tried to kill Jesus by conspiring to defame him and crucify him. They complained about him to the king who was a disbeliever. They claimed that Jesus was a man who misguided people, discouraged them from obeying the king, caused division, and separated between man and his own son. They also said other lies about Jesus, which they will carry on their necks, including accusing him of being an illegitimate son. The king became furious and sent his men to capture Jesus to torture and crucify him. When they surrounded Jesus's home and he thought that they would surely capture him, God saved him from them, raising him up from the house to heaven. God put the image of Jesus on a man who was in the house; when the unjust people went in the house while it was still dark, they thought that he was Jesus. They captured that man, humiliated and crucified him. They also placed thorns on his head. However, God deceived these people. He saved and raised His Prophet from them, leaving them in disarray in the darkness of their transgression, thinking that they had successfully achieved their goal. God made their hearts hard, and defiant of the truth, disgracing them in such disgrace that it will remain with them until the Day of Resurrection. This is why God said,

[وَمَكَرُواْ وَمَكَرَ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَـكِرِينَ ]

(And they plotted, and God planned too. And God is the Best of those who plot.)

t(55. And (remember) when God said: "O Jesus! I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify [save] you from those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve till the Day of Resurrection. Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute.'' (56. "As to those who disbelieve, I will punish them with severe torment in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers.'') (57. And as for those who believe and do righteous good deeds, God will pay them their reward in full. And God does not like the wrongdoers.) (58. This is what We recite to you of the verses and the Wise Reminder.)

Here are some more verses about why we should pray to God and not to Jesus and he was a Prophet of God.

[004:171] O people of the Scripture (Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of God aught but the truth. The Messiah 'Îsâ (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a Messenger of God and His Word, ("Be!" – and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Rûh) created by Him; so believe in God and His Messengers. Say not: "Three (trinity)!" Cease! (it is) better for you. For God is (the only) One God, Glorified is He (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And God is All-Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs.

[004:172] The Messiah will never be proud to reject to be a slave of God, nor the angels who are the near (to God). And whosoever rejects His worship and is proud, then He will gather them all together to Himself.

[004:173] So, as for those who believed (in the Oneness of God – Islâmic Monotheism) and did deeds of righteousness, He will give them their (due) rewards – and more out of His bounty. But as for those who refused His worship and were proud, He will punish them with a painful torment. And they will not find for themselves besides God any protector or helper.

[004:174] O mankind! Verily, there has come to you a convincing proof (Prophet Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him]) from your Lord; and We sent down to you a manifest light (this Qur'ân).

[004:175] So, as for those who believed in God and held fast to Him, He will admit them to His Mercy and Grace (i.e. Paradise), and guide them to Himself by a Straight Path.

Then a little more guidance on associating partners with God.

[010:034] Say: "Is there of your (God's so-called) partners one that originates the creation and then repeats it?" Say: "God originates the creation and then He repeats it. Then how are you deluded away (from the truth)?"

[010:035] Say: "Is there of your (God's so-called) partners one that guides to the truth?" Say: "It is God Who guides to the truth. Is then He Who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who finds not guidance (himself) unless he is guided? Then, what is the matter with you? How judge you?"

[010:036] And most of them follow nothing but conjecture. Certainly, conjecture can be of no avail against the truth. Surely, God is All-Knower of what they do.

And lastely a few verses in the Qu'ran, testifying to its authencity. And challenging the disbelievers.

[010:037] And this Qur'ân is not such as could ever be produced by other than God (Lord of the heavens and the earth), but it is a confirmation of (the Revelation) which was before it [i.e. the Taurât (Torah), and the Injîl (Gospel)], and a full explanation of the Book (i.e. the laws decreed for mankind) – wherein there is no doubt – from the Lord of the 'Âlamîn (mankind, jinn, and all that exists).

[010:038] Or do they say: "He (Muhammad [Peace Be Upon HIm]) has forged it?" Say: "Bring then a Sûrah (chapter) like it, and call upon whomsoever you can besides God, if you are truthful!"

Even though we may wish for someone to believe they way we do, we as humans cannot, rather this is for God to decide

[006:038] There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then to their Lord they (all) shall be gathered.

[006:039] Those who reject Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) are deaf and dumb in the darkness. God sends astray whom He wills and He guides on a Straight Path whom He wills.

[006:040] Say (O Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him]): "Tell me if God's torment comes upon you, or the Hour comes upon you, would you then call upon any one other than God? (Reply) if you are truthful!"

Peace Be With You

and may God guide you to the straight path!

Please don't hesitate to message me directly if you have any other questions.

Okay Muhammad is Islam's most revered and sacred prophet, he was the first to receive the laws of Islam from the archangel Gabriel. Muhammad then passed them on through his teachings. Muhammad's receiving of the Islamic laws took place in the city of Mecca or just outside it, can't quite remember. Muhammad's teachings were then converted into the holy book called the Quran (or Koran).
Islamics believe that Jesus was a prophet and not the son of God. To Islamics Jesus is NOT the Lord and Savior.
For those religions that do believe in Jesus as the Lord and Savior, there are many, but mainly stemming off of Catholicism and Protestantism.
Anti-Baptist
Baptist
Brethren-Me
Puritan
Calvinist
Seven Day Adventist-hope this is spelled right
Catholicism
Orthodox Christianism
and so on.
If you have access to a college library there is an Encyclopedia of World Religion that will give you a good start if you want to learn more about different religions. That's how I got my information on Zoroastrianism--the first monotheistic religion that believes in the coming of a Savior and seems to be the foundation of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

no longer all sects of Christianity have self assurance that Jesus and God are an analogous or united beings. This replaced into settled on the 1st Council of Nicaea. The Arian Christians (to no longer be at a loss for words with Hitler's Aryans) felt that Jesus replaced into no longer begotten of God the father, what the Council decreed. Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. Protestants are the majority branch of Christianity in the U. S., outnumbering Catholics. Baptists are considered a sect of Protestantism, as is Lutheranism, Presbyterian, Methodists, Episcopalians, etc. Is there a majority of Christians working the rustic? Your question is somewhat imprecise. almost all of our legislators (close by, state, and federal point) become attentive to as Christians, yet that does no longer mean that Christianity runs the rustic on condition that we've a mundane government. Catholics are a minority at many state tiers of government and genuinely the federal government.

There are other religions out there that believe In Jesus. Only they believe He was a prophet of God, but not the Messiah. So, this in itself excludes them from truly serving the Living God. Islam believes in Allah as their God with Mohammed being the "Chosen one" followed by having to do works to get them into heaven. This also Excludes them from serving the Living God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Believing in Mohammed as being the "Chosen one" is putting him above The Christ. which makes it a False religion. Saying that Allah is god is to say that their is two Gods and this is not possible, seeing as How the True God says that He" will have no other gods before Him" "I am a jealous God" "I AM" If these other religions do not believe that Jesus is the Messiah, then they can not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.. seeing as how Jesus said " I am the way, the truth and the life" " You can not come to God except through me" That Phrase eliminates any other so called "way" to heaven.. It excludes works as a means of getting to heaven which is what Islam states... You have to have works... God says that it is not by works that one enters into Heaven.. That it is the grace of God through faith.Though people may not like it, it may bother them, and they may want to revolt.... OH WELL,,,,, Jesus is the Only Way to get to Heaven. I wonder why the very quran that Saddam was said to be holding did not save him from his fate? As The living God did for Daniel in the Lions den, the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace? The turning back of the sun for Hezekiah, The standing still of the sun the Israel to defeat their enemies?

I think you can find the answers to many of your questions about Jesus at the link below. There is a lot of documented evidence about Jesus's life on earth, so most religions don't dispute his existance. Those who believe that Jesus Christ is our savior are called Christians and there are lots more besides Baptists. What seperates Baptist from other Christians is that Baptists have added lots to the original Bible that wasn't intended, like where the Bible says don't get drunk, Baptists say don't drink; and while Baptists don't dance, even Jesus danced in the Bible.

God Bless!

No they do not they use the name Jesus but do not know the true Jesus Christ the Son of God who died for our sins. Muhammad was a false Prophet and he used the names of the true Prophets of God to gain credibility while denying their teachings. These are Muslims and are not Christians and do not know the true Christ nor do they worship the true God.

Christianity is based on the belief that Jesus Christ died on the
cross to save people's sins. Muslim/Islam believe in the
prophet Mohammed. Jewish people believe Christ has not
come to earth yet. Catholics believe Jesus is Savior but they
also worship Mary and have beliefs that Protestants (like
Baptists) don't believe in (like Purgatory - Catholics think you
go there after you die and live people pray you into heaven).

Catholics, Lutherins, all protastant faiths, any associated "Christian" belief believes in Christ as Lord and Savior.

Muhammad, on the other hand, was believed to be a prophet of God, which is skeptisized, believing that he was just a man.

In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) the first principle of the Gospel is to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The second principle is repentance, third, baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; the fourth, laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
