Where can I buy a lute and learn how to play it? Just curious...

While you may get lucky on ebay, the right place to look, not surprisingly, is at Luthiers... classical guitar makers and repairers can be found all over the country, and somewhere among them you will find something affordable.

Someone who maked lutes is called a "luthier". Google it, and you'll find some, I'm sure.

Some university music programs offer lute as an instrument for study. You can at mine, for example, the University of North Texas.
