Your best bet would be to take it to a company that does computer forensics work. They can recover just about anything.
I figure memory is memory and although you may have deleted the images they should still exist except you can't see them because the internal pointers to these files have been removed.
If you can hook up your camera to USB and it shows up as a drive on your PC you might try certain file recovery applications available online.
I would not take any more pics in the interim.

Not likely, but there used to be Norton Utilities software to undelete files on a hard drive. I wonder if it would work on a bubble memory in a camera plugged into the PC?

Maybe a professional could but I believe once pictures are deleted they are deleted forever.

We've tried doing stuff like this at our shop and it is impossible. Unless someone has the knowledge (FBI style) to do something like this you will never get them back.
