No kidding. That is SO rude and disrespectful. Just how rude it is depends who's initiating it. If it's the boss or manager, it's deplorable! If at all possible you should speak to someone higher up about it. If it's just some co-workers who are palsy together ordering food and they don't ask a couple people, then you could speak to them about it because maybe they don't realize they're being rude, but on the other hand they might be doing it on purpose. Errrrrrrrrrrrgh!!

I see this happen quite often where I work. It is most defintely rude. When there is a large goup it is understandable that a few people might get together and order out. But when there are only a few people, everyone should be asked.

Yes, it's rude, inconsiderate, and childish if the same ones are always left out. Could be a passive aggressive way of excluding someone for personal vendetta, so to speak. If you're one of the ones left out, why don't you place the order and invite everyone, without exclusion to place an order, too. Your way of letting them know you're the bigger person.

Yes, it is rude. Maybe you and the other outcasts should order out on your own, and make sure to order something way better than what the clique is eating.
It helps if the food is especially aromatic as well.

Is it the same people they don't ask each time? Or do they just ask the first two people they come in contact with. It may be innocent or it may be there way of saying they only want to eat with the people who order the food.

Yes it is rude. Just like kids who have birthday parties and dont invite the whole class...but they can dish out the invitations at school.
