Without more details, it's kind of hard to say. What breed of dog do you have; what exactly does your dog do - follow you around constantly? Just off hand, I would say it's probably nothing to worry about. My wife and I have 2 Siberian Huskies. They follow us around constantly. I'm not sure if it's because they feel close to us or if they are just nosy and are afraid that they are going to miss out on something. I do know that they consider their "human" family part of their pack, so maybe this has something to do with it. If one of us is in the bathroom and we don't shut the bathroom door tight, they will push it open with their nose and walk right on in. Or, if one if us is sick and in bed, they will both get up on the bed and lay down with us. All in all, I would say you don't have much to worry about.

No, it's not. Just as dogs (and animals in general) have their own personality, some dogs will appear more or less affectionate depending on how they show that affection. The very reason we have dogs though can be seen throughout written history. The close-ness and companionship they offer are unequivocal. So no, it's normal for your dog to be close to you...enjoy it!

Sure!! I had a Beagle and he was my baby!! He passed on from old age. But, yes, this is normal. Dogs are very loyal. Dogs can love just as much as people can. It`s obvious that you really care for your dog or he would not feel this way about you. Be glad, you have a friend for life. He will be the best friend you have ever had. Loyalty, love, and protection. You can`t even get that from most people.

My dog was close to me when I was living alone, after my husband died, then my son moved in and I lost him to him,he will not have any thing to do with me when there is a man around. So your dog must love you very much and feel safe when he is with you, not all dogs are like that, but it is normal for some dogs to want to be close to their owners.

What breed of dog is it? Have you been leaving the dog alone for long periods of time? Certain breeds just live to make their owners happy. Others suffer from separation anxiety and don't want to let you out of their sight when you're home.
Need more details to give you a real reason for your particular dog.

It is very normal for dogs to become attached/reliant on their human counterparts, often they will show or act nervous when you are not around, which this can be a problem, but just being strongly bonded to your pet is not a bad thing. My dog gets jelous of my dad hugging my mom its hilarious.

Close as in near or close as in feelings.
If it's feelings, then that is normal, my dog is close to us too.
If your dog is close (near) to you and snarling, yeah that would be scary and not normal.

this could be down to one or two things really!
1) You are very loving to your dog and he is just returning his love to you. (which can only be a good thing)
or
2) Your not providing enough love and attention to your dog and it is making him feel that he has to go that little bit further to show you that he loves you and is desperate for you to give him some back.
So, in both cases I would say 'yes' this is normal.

Perfectly normal, our pets, in particular dogs and cats, do become part of the family. So just enjoy and keep on loving it.
