spanking works fine but if your child is sensitive or over emotional than it would probably mess them up. If you do spank them dont feel bad about it its for there own good too many parents have run out of options and are to afraid of spanking theyre kids for fear of the cps and scarring theyre child emotionally.

This is a question every parents in the world ask. This depends on what the child did. I truly do not believe in spanking for my child. He is normally a very good child. He is eleven. When we talk to him and tell him the consequences of his actions, he really seems to listen. Not that he has never went and done the same thing again, but we are talking about children.
How did you really feel when your parents disciplined you, Did they spank, did it really help. Remember they are children not adults. They will make the same mistake twice maybe even more. Spanking effects a child!!

It works. When I was young, my parents spanked me and it was very affective...I didn't disobey them. But, you should ONLY use spanking when they are bad (constantly disobeying after being warned) and when they are between the ages of 3-5. And of course, don't spank another person's child EVER...only your own. Just be conscious when you spank, especially when in public or at home, for you don't want to give the impression you're an abusive parent. Don't spank constantly, otherwise, again, you're sending your child the wrong message. After the age of 5, time-outs and grounding work just as effectively.

the fear now day it that you will get DFS after you if you spank your child and that it not the case. As long as it is on the butt, with your hand. THere is a big difference in spanking a child and abusing a child. Yes spank your kid. Spare the rod Spoil the child. they have to know who is in charge just don't let it go out of controll. Hope this helps. good luck hun.

A lot of people say there are alternatives to spanking that are better in the long run... such as time outs, talking to your kids about what they did wrong, or taking away priviledges.
Spanking has been linked in studies to insecurity, violence and even lower IQs. I am not saying these studies are right or wrong, I just say they exist.

Spanking a child is fine, you do it in a manner so the child knows he is being punished for behavior that was bad and when he was told not to did it again he did so hence the spanking do it with hand and not when you are really mad never let it get that far. i always counted to three then spanked if needed.

Nothing wrong with a good bum warming. Some children respond well to a spanking, while others carry on as normal with no effect. Nothing wrong with trying although.

Yes, absolutely. It does effect them in a positive way when applied because of a child's disobedience. It trains them to think twice about doing wrong and to choose to do what is right. It will save their life and make them able to deal with life and make the best decisions. Better to have a little pain for the moment than get older and not able to receive correction when the consequences become so much greater - even life and death. I thank God my parents whipped me.

absolutely you got to teach children respect but dont go overboard on spanking the child because it could cause him to abuse their children when they grow up and have children. children need to learn the importance of being good and not being bad or disrespectful.

Of course it will affect them, the way any violence would. Spanking a small child is cruel punishment. This small one deserves the protection of the Constitution like everyone else.
