My mum was at the beach today and she accidentally dropped her digital camera into the sea. She's tried drying it in the airing cupboard but it still doesn't seem to work. Any ideas on what to do?

Take it completely apart and let it dry out, then put it back together. Handle the parts with care though

Think about what salt water does to your hair, skin and clothing and think you will realize their is no hope. They are getting less expensive so maybe next time try to buy a waterproof camera or least a waterproof case - learn from this experience as that is what these things happen for, bet your mum or anyone else in your family will never do this again.

If u got salt water into the lens then you might as well throw it away and buy a new one. Also the lubricant used for the lens might have gotten contaminated with salt, so it will not run smoothly. Repairing such damage is not worth the price unless it's a professional camera.

Salt water and electronics do not mix. When the water dries there will still be a salt residue on the electronics and will cause them not to function. I am sorry to say but the camera is ruined.

My GOD, rush the camera to the service center ASAP, but I think it will be expensive because the electronics will be short circuit, a lot of stuff need to be replaced. Juz buy a new one, nowaday it is not very expensive

Unless you have one of those 2 year guarantee things where you exchange the broken camera for a new one then you're going to have to tell your mom to throw it away :/

Cost to repair outweighs replacing!
