There's no set rule for this. I was with my first husband for 2 years before we got married and 5 years later we're now getting divorced. I wish I could tell you that the longer you stay together the easier it gets, but it's not true. It;s not about a time frame...it's about the people involved in the relationship. You just know...

Well if I was proposed to I would say yes if I loved him and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. I would have to at least have dated him for 1 1/2 to 2 years or more.

There really is no set limit. My Grandparents knew each other for ten days, were wed on the tenth day and were happily married for more than 40 years, of course my Papa already owned land and had a small cattle farm and my Gram was fresh out of college. She moved from New Jersey to Texas to be with him and she was 6 years his senior. Relationships these days aren't like that...You need to really know the person first and both be financially responsible (finances are the main reason most relationships fail)...you'll know in your gut what the right thing to do is. Best wishes to you.

My guy proposed to me after 4 years dating.. Anyway, you shouldn't propose too long after dating but not too quick either. Just when you're sure, don't lead the person on for too long.

my sis dated her husband for almost a year before getting married. My father says he dated my mom for a year before proposing. I would say a year. Experience every holiday and all the seasons together first before you propose. See how you guys weather the year together.

As a woman, I would at least want to know we were moving in that direction after two years, otherwise I'd feel that we were wasting time. It depends on the couple's goals. If you want to be married, you should be with someone who has the same idea.

well, my husband proposed to me after a year and a half .. but yet we live together for a year and a half where we learn all the pros and cons of each selves when we are at home... when you are on a date you sometimes cover something so the other will like you but when you at home everything will surface... but really it really just depend on you two ..
