Did your puppy have rabies before it got the shot? If not (and it's very unlikely it did unless it was a stray that had been bitten by a raccoon or other infected animal), then you don't have rabies.

The cold is probably just that... a cold. They go around this time of year. Drink plenty of water and orange juice, get lots of rest, and you should be fine.

Regardless, check the wound... it it's red and infected, you might have gotten something else; however, be aware that dog's mouths are generally cleaner than people's mouths.

Your chances of contracting rabies from your puppy are extremely slim. You should however go to the ER. They will examine the wound and determine if you need antibiotics for a possible infection. With pets, the authorities usually ask you to quarentine the dog in your home for a short period of time after the bite and watch for any signs of illness or odd behavior in the dog. Rabies symptoms are different than the common cold and can include high fever, agitation, and abdominal pain, etc.

Most 3 month old puppies don't have rabies. And the shot probably had time to work before you got bitten.

Colds are miserable things, though.

You need to go to the ER ASAP! You probably don't have rabies, but you could have an infection from the dog bite. In any case, you will need to be evaluated if you need a rabies shot, or series of shots, yourself. Or possible a tetanus shot. A rabies shot for a dog takes longer than 24 hours to work. The rabies shot for your dog is not to get rid of rabies, because if your dog had rabies it would have to be put down, but rather to help prevent it from getting rabies.

I doubt you have rabies. Most young puppies are not carriers. You of course need to protect them from rabies. You would more likely get rabies from a wild animal. You probably have a cold coming on and it is just a coincidence.
