Lou's has a pretty good pizza that is not Deep Dish, although their Deep Dish is fabulous. I hear a lot however about Home Run Inn...you can buy them at most local grocery stores. I live in Kansas City, however my husband lived and worked in Chicago, plus we visit very frequently. We can now get Home Run Inn here in Kansas City.

If you are looking for a big name place then you want Home Run Inn but I personally love Danny's Pizza located at 6021 S Archer Ave (Cross Street: Menard Avenue). They have the best pizza around and living in Chicago I have been to many pizza places and this is the best. It is family owned but the pizza is AWESOME!!

I definitely recommend Lou Malnati's Pizzerias. No questions. If you are going to be in Chicago, check out the one on Wells street. I personally like the one in Naperville downtown the best but it's about 35 minutes drive. Obviously you should really try deep-dish in Chicago but Lou Malnati's also have high quality Thin Crust Pizza.

Giordano's (several locations in Chicago) do have the
traditional type pizza as well as deep dish. You can't go
wrong there (the sauce is great). I had a takeout one the
reheated it the next day and it is even better reheated!

I used to live in Chicago 15 years ago, so maybe my anwer is dated, but the best places were Uno's and Due's (sp), they were on or near Rush/Chicago Ave, just north of the river, best deep dish ever!

I haven't been there myself. But I know a guy from the area and he says that Home Run Inn is the best.
