We like to have the occasional drink after work. Any suggestions on a low fat/carb drink we can make or buy?

Congrats on the desire to be fit and I hope y'all both reach your goals soon and in a healthy manner..

Low carb = diet soda/rum

Any hard liquor pretty much is low carb (Atkins allows them), the trick is finding something to mix it with that you enjoy...I've also found a low carb/fat way to make a white russian (Davinci sugar free kahlua flavored syrup, vodka, low fat milk)...

I'm sure there are other options but those are what I'm most familiar with from my experience going low carb...

Cheers/Slainte'!

Lemondade and Vodka. Jack and Pepsi One. Rum and Diet Coke. Try to refrain from calories though 3 - 4 hours before bedtime as you aren't likely to burn these off. Try replacing one meal either breakfast or lunch with alternating veggies and fruit i.e. breakfast fruit or lunch veggies. For snacks have cut veggies and drink water before and inbetween meals. Eliminate soda or limit yourself to 1 per day. Eliminate or replace coffee with tea or limit yourself to 1 cup per day. Tea is much healthier but try not to offset that with added sugar or honey use lemon instead. Good luck to both of you. Remember your body is the shape you live in and it shapes the way you live.
