They can prescribe anything that's on the formulary list. If for some reason they need to go off the formulary list there's a major goat-rope the doc needs to go through to justify the drug. Most military treatment facilities have their formulary lists on the web so it's easy to look up.

If you talking about sports medicine physical therapy then it's usually a sports medicine RN that you deal with. I have been prescribed Indomethacine, or Motrin (military wonder drug). They mostly prescribe anti inflammatory meds. Other than than they prescribe exercises. It's difficult to get them to refer you to a ortho specialist. Took about 3 months before I was referred to ortho specialist and he determined I needed surgery, now I'm doing physical therapy as part of the recuperation process.
